Q. Will we meet you before the wedding?
A. Yes! I feel it is important to build a relationship and to be comfortable with your photographer as you will feel more relaxed with them following you around all day. It also helps me to get to know you and your plans for the day. I typically offer two meetings. The initial meeting at my studio and the second meeting around 4-6 weeks before the wedding can be at the venue, my studio or your home.
Q. Do you travel? If so how far will you go?
A. I love to travel and wish I could do more. Travel is included across Shropshire, Staffordshire and the West Midlands up to 35 miles from my home. I am happy to travel worldwide and can tailor packages to suit your needs to include travel and accommodation. Please get in touch to discuss your requirements.
Q. Are you insured?
A. Yes I am fully insured and can provide a copy of my public liability certificate to your venue should they require it.
Q. Do you only offer digital products?
A. Not at all. In fact I loathe handing over a USB for a number of reasons. I much prefer to see memories and moments printed for all to see than being stuck in a drawer on a piece of technology that will be outdated within a few years. For this reason I offer a range of stunning coffee table albums and beautiful wall art frames and canvas prints at very competitive prices.
Q. Can we have a mixture of colour and black & white images?
A. Yes of course. I make a professional judgement whilst editing if the image looks best in colour or black & white and as my editing technique is non-destructive, it allows me to change the photo back to colour to suit your preference. The online gallery also allows you to see what colour images would look like converted to monochrome too.
Q. Who owns the copyright to the photos?
A. Under current UK legalisation copyright is automatically given to the photographer who captures the image as per the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988. I do provide a print release for your personal use for images supplied on your USB.
Q. How many pictures will you deliver?
A. This is a tough question as it depends on how long you book me for, how many guests you have and what happens on the day. I never guarantee a set quantity of photos although do my best to capture everything you ask for and a lot more and to deliver as many quality memories as possible.
Q. Can we request photos on the day?
A. Yes I encourage you and your guests to request photos at the appropriate moments. I do highlight that adding photo requests during your group formals will reduce the time allowance for the bridal portraits, although I always make a mental note to capture additional requests later when possible.
Q. What happens after the wedding? When will we see our finished images?
A. Once all the images are backed up I set about selecting and processing through them. I colour correct and enhance all of the best photos and at busy times of the year can take up to 6 weeks although I try to process them as quickly as possible without compromising on quality. Once your images are edited I upload to your online gallery for which I will send a link to so that you can share with friends and family. From here you can select your favourite photos to be used in your album design if you have chosen to have an album, and normally the first draft is done within 48 hours. We then get together again to finalise your order and everything will be ready at the studio within 6 weeks.
Q. How do we book you?
A. I prefer to meet all clients either in person, by phone or Skype which is useful for weddings further afield. Meeting in person helps us get to know each other making sure I am the best fit for your big day. You also get to see and feel the products you will be spending your hard earned money on. A 25% non-refundable deposit of your package price is required to secure your date and this is paid after you have had time to view and sign the contract and complete a short questionnaire, all of which are done online for your convenience. The balance is then payable around 4 weeks before your booked date.
